SERVICES & SERMONS

BECOME A PART OF OUR FAMILY

Our worship service is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Wolgamuth provides a blended-style of worship in a relaxed Sunday morning setting.  Wolgamuth presents biblically-based sermons which are practically applied to everyday life.  We offer small groups (6-8 weeks in duration) in conjunction with a study sermon series and faith-based books.  There are also opportunities to participate in longer running life caring/sharing groups.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

Every Sunday at 9 am, we host an adult Sunday school class. The class is currently led by Dr. Dan Felix, Dr. Josh Tomes and Rosemary Firestone.  The class studies topics that have ranged from the origins of the Church of the Brethren to comparing the Four Gospels.  These topics are chosen by the class members. Everyone is welcome to attend!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

During the worship service, we offer a vibrant Children’s Church program for pre-school through middle school-aged children.  All of our classes are led by teachers who make learning bible lessons fun and interactive for the students. Our students learn bible lessons, sing songs, make crafts and so much more!

From a deserted island surrounded by the sea to a cave with unique animals, our church goes through a major transformation for one week!  As we like to say, “It’s the BEST WEEK OF THE SUMMER!”

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a wonderful way to teach children about God and in the process meet new friends and have FUN!  In true Wolgamuth spirit, we always raise money for a local charity during VBS. Over the years, we have raised donations for new playground equipment at Pinchot Park, Ronald McDonald House, overseas mission projects and most recently for Youth Impact Project in Dillsburg.

This year’s theme: Roar: Life is Wild. God is Good! : June 17- June 21.  Registration opens Monday, April 8, 2019 and is open to all children and adults!

LOVE FEAST
Rockyrailway.jpg
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Every August, Wolgamuth offers prayers and blessings for the children and teachers as they head back for another exciting school year.

Love Feast is one practice that distinguishes the Church of the Brethren from many other Christian denominations. Jesus taught us this practice by sharing a last meal with His disciples in the upper room the night before He died. As they shared the meal, the disciples argued. Jesus got up from the table and washed the disciples’ feet as a symbol of love, humility and service. He then offered them the bread and cup which would become symbols of His sacrifice on the cross.

During our bi-annual love feast service, we repeat these simple, meaningful acts. Before participating, all attendees are encouraged to examine themselves and are implored to reconcile any discord they may have with one another. We enjoy a meal together, wash each others’ feet (or hands for those who are unable to kneel), and share the bread and the cup in remembrance of Christ. We also observe the bread-and-cup communion at other times throughout the year.

Historically, the Love Feast was a solemn event with no talking besides that of the minister and the singing of hymns. Now, we seek a balance between a joyful fellowship meal, the humbling experience of foot washing and the reverence of the bread and cup. Both Love Feast and Communion are open to all believers and followers of Christ.
